Stroll through our beautiful public parks. The largest, the city of Urbana's Melvin Miller Park, features picnic grounds, softball and soccer fields, an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, playground equipment, a fishing pond and an outdoor band pavilion which hosts a summer concert series. Recreation commissions also provide organized baseball, softball, soccer and football leagues.

Goshen Memorial Park

Open daily May 1st through November 1st, the park offers a variety of recreational facilities. Tennis courts, horseshoe pits, picnic tables, and grills are all located in the upper park. The park has two shelters, a multipurpose building, a stage that is located at the foot of the park's natural amphitheater, and a large shelter house.

2008 celebrates the 44th Season for Lakeland Golf Course. Lakeland was redesigned in 2002 to an 18-Hole Championship Course, by current owners Ron & Ana Burns, with the insight and expertise of known course designer Barry Serafin.
Lakeland offers a five-tee complex to maximize the enjoyment for all who play the course. Generous fairways are deceptively arrayed with strategically positioned bunkers and natural water hazards. The New Course continues to grow and mature, and challenges golfers of all levels.

Trail Description:
The 14 mile Simon Kenton Trail connects Urbana and Champaign County with Ohio's developing network of multi-use trails, offering visitors and local residents a safe place to bike, walk, run and skate. The trail, which is wheelchair accessible, follows the abandoned Erie-Lackawanna rail line. It begins at the Champaign Family YMCA, loops around Melvin Miller Park, and passes through town, by the recently restored Urbana Station Depot, Urbana University, the Johnny Appleseed Museum, and near the industrial park. The trail continues south to Woodburn Road, near Cedar Bog, Ohio's first nature preserve. In Springfield it connects with the Little Miami Scenic Trail, which goes through Yellow Springs and ends in the Cincinnati area.
The Urbana Station Depot, at 644 Miami Street, serves as a staging area and rest stop. It is furnished with restrooms, a coffee house, a community information center, bike racks and lockers, and parking. Parking also is available at the Champaign Family YMCA, near US Highway 36 and State Route 29; at State Route 55, just west of US Highway 68; and at Woodburn Road, just west of US Highway 68, near Cedar Bog.
