What is Leadership Champaign County?
Leadership Champaign County is a community development program in which participants with diverse backgrounds and experiences will have the opportunity to broaden their perspectives, enhance their leadership skills and learn from others who are active in our community. The program is for those who wish to gain knowledge, skills, experience and commitment needed to be effective leaders in both our community and our professions. Those attributes will then allow participants to better address community needs and opportunities. The goal of the program is to develop informed, civic minded leaders for the Champaign County community.How does Leadership Champaign County work?
Like successful leadership programs in other communities, the Champaign County class gains in-depth and "behind-the scene" knowledge and insight in matters of leadership, government, education, health care, social services, media, local history, economics and development, and quality-of-life issues.Class participants, led by more than 50 established business education and community leaders in a variety of settings, gain an understanding of their marketplace, community and fellow citizens in a way otherwise unavailable. Classroom lectures, hands on challenges and tours of facilities throughout the county are among the approaches utilized to help you or your employee become a much more informed part of your organization.

Enrollment is open to persons living or working in Champaign County. The Academy will have 25 participants.
